This Sensational Candlelight Concert Is Fire

On this sultry candlelight concert date, watch soft flames illuminate the darkness amidst an orchestra of powerful melodies. Don’t wait to ignite your senses.

The Background

Fever’s Candlelight Concerts started in Madrid to make classical music more accessible around the globe. Since 2019, talented local musicians have been playing delightful scores in eclectic venues ranging from cathedrals and churches to museums. Thousands of candles light up darkened spaces as melodies from contemporary artists, composers, and films flow through the room. With events in over 180 cities, your next concert is nearby.

The Standout Features

Here’s why this date is lit:

  • Talk About Mood Lighting: From the dark ambiance to the sultry candle glow, the romance is palpable. Add in moving music and it’s hard not to catch feelings.

  • Get Expressive: The venue creates the perfect backdrop to explore your artistic sides. Share an instrument you play or learn their favorite composer. No matter what you discuss, you’ll learn their take on fine arts.
  • Dress to Impress: We rarely have the chance to look our best, but this date lets you do just that. Show them what a knockout you are.

  • Bond Over Beats: Music can be a powerful way to connect. Is your plus one dying to hear the Beatles score or is the Best of Video Games concert more their speed? Is classical or modern melodies more their jam? Discover new commonalities and more to love together.

The Experience

Date Lead Up - The Crescendo

As instructed, we arrive 30 minutes before the show and get in line. While waiting, we admire the stylish dresses and strapping suits. Though we can wear jeans, we go fancy instead. The queue moves quickly and after showing our digital tickets, we’re escorted inside the venue.

When we enter, hundreds of LED candles illuminate the otherwise dark room. Lo-fi and classical music drift from the speakers, gently landing on the audience like snowflakes. I inhale a sharp breath at the highly romantic scene. It’s more than I imagined and no matter how hard I try, I can’t look away from the flickering stage.

There’s no assigned seats. Instead, patrons fill each section on a first-come, first-served basis. Our early entrance lets us secure two excellent spots, right in the center. Our words turn soft to match the velvet glow of the lights while the city falls farther away. A sense of peace wraps around me like a blanket, and I’m cozy by his side.

Before long, a calming overhead voice welcomes us. Silence filled with excited anticipation cascades throughout the crowd. Then, our musicians usher their instruments to the stage. Seated in all black, they blend into the background to let the music shine. With that, the evening truly begins.

Date Main Event - The Climax

A violinist introduces the night’s program, Rings and Dragons. She promises gripping Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones compositions, and delivers. As we journey through Middle Earth, I get lost in the jolly jingles of the shire and haunting sounds of Sméagol’s taming. The gravitas of the movements reflect the power of this 17 Academy Award-winning masterpiece.

Then, we fly to Westeros, where each house plays its anthem. From the noble Starks to the sinister Lannisters, the tones are as rich as their checkered history. Next, the Red Wedding’s foreboding tolls chime a warning that comes too late. Beneath closed eyes, the notes paint an enchanted, vibrant world of fire-breathers. When I open them, I understand why the series won 59 Emmys.

I glance over to see my date savoring the sounds of far-off lands. Sensing my stare, his gaze meets mine. After holding it for a moment, he grabs my hand. I’m thankful for the darkness, so he doesn’t catch me blushing. We sit like that for the rest of the concert, just listening. Soon, it’s time for the last song, the only part we can record. It’s a delightful finish to an inspiring evening. Afterwards, the crowd erupts in applause as the musicians bow.

Date Wrap Up - The Diminuendo

At my urging, we descend the stairs amidst the awed whispers of pleased patrons. Like a moth to a flame, I’m drawn to the sea of candles. The view is more spectacular up close. Briefly, we take in the scene together. When we’re ready, we walk towards the exit, still holding hands. As we leave the building, we start the encore.
